“Heavy lifting gear” arrived today – an almighty crane and three flatbed trailers with goodies on board. Let’s see if this can fix it as it’s obviously pretty screwed. Off to get more wood and walk more.
We’ve chopped wood, painted and varnished and had a lovely lunch watching the goings on here. By 6pm they had lifted the lock the few inches they need to grind and weld. It appeared as if they were removing the lock and taking it away by trailer at one point which really would have been a protracted stop but they are obviously working on it in situ.
Hope its fixed tomorrow, were getting low on power, gas and water!
