Stuck in Soisy-sur-Seine

We left Fontainebleau and carried onto Paris at the best speed we could, but when we arrived at this lock at Soisy-sur-Seine, there were two red lights showing, which means “protracted stop”, not good!

There were three barges in the lock, several outside and many Frenchmen doing well, what they do best – standing, talking, pointing!

It seems a barge clipped the lock gate on the way out and damaged the mechanism so we are stuck here. As it’s a double lock, we decided to moor against the central reservation as its safer being not too “pretty” here.

Nothing to do but walk into town and buy some food and stick it out
