After two days in Soissy sur Sonne, the lock was fixed. Traffix started flowing at about 7am and we did not get through till about the fifth locking. That’s after five locks full of 9 barges each in each direction.
After this point we had to follow in convoy and sit at the back of the next few locks. not a pleasant experience as we lost control two or three times as all barges left their engines running as we entered. Think “rubber duck in bath by running taps” and you’ll get the gist of our movements around the lock!!!
