It turns out that my passport file was one of a handful that got “lost” from the system when they ported from an old system to their current one.
This took me several hours and a few very angry phone calls to sort out but it is done now and compensation is promised.
- But what of those people who do not know their passports are cancelled yet? Will they turn up at the airport with the kids to jet off on holiday and get turned away I hear you ask?
- Is this the new passport lottery maybe?
Well I will have to let my MP ask that question in Parliament question time won’t I as he seems quite interested in this case 😉
